:bookdiva:
The written three Japanese Kanji letters are as same as Chinese traditional Han-zi letters, although those three-letters-in-one-set identify "Hornbeam Maple ( Acer carpinifolium" in Japanese languages.
:shoutbox: Literally the meaning of " Chi (pronounce like "Chick" of "chicken")" as "thousands", "Dori - turned from original sound tori" as "birds", (abbreviated one letter "No" as "of" ), and "Ki" as "tree(s)" in Japanese languages, it means "Thousand bird's Maple", as people thought the "staggering drunk" bird's foot prints goes like zig-zag looks similar shapes of those "opposite phyllotaxis" leaves ... maybe ... :p
:moon: The unifoliate leaves of "Chidorinoki" do not look like other common maple's, but the arrangement of leaves on a plant stem is "opposite phyllotaxis" ... :)
