The written three Japanese Kanji letters are as same as Chinese traditional Han-zi letters, although those three-letters-in-one-set identify "Nikko Maple (Acer maximowiczianum)" in Japanese languages only.
Literally the meaning of " Me (pronounce like "met" of "metalic")" as "eye(s)", "Gusuri - turned from original sound Kusuri" as "medicine", (abbreviated one letter "No" as "of" ), and "Ki" as "tree(s)" in Japanese languages, it means "Eye Medicine Maple", as people use them for making pharmaceutical eye-drops and eye-lotion, since Sengoku era here in Japan ...
