:bookdiva:
The written Japanese Kanji letters are as same as Chinese traditional Han-zi letters, however they are also popular written as Bai-Guo(白果) or Gong-Sun-Shu(公孫樹,公孙树) among the Chinese languages.
:shoutbox: We have three different pronunciations for same letters among Japanese languages ....
:bulletblack: Ichou or Icho or Ichoh(銀杏)... "Ginkgo bilolba" tree(s) in Japanese pronunciation. (pronounce somehow like "E-Chow")
:bulletblack: Ginnan or Gin-nan(銀杏)... "Ginkgo bilolba" female tree's seed(s) in Japanese pronunciation. (pronounce somehow like "Gin-Nan")... Gin of GINZA, Nan of none ... :)
:bulletblack: Ginkyo or Ginkyou(銀杏)... "Ginkgo bilolba" tree's leaves and female tree's seed(s), but particularly indicates Crude (or natural or herbal) drugs (or medicines) in Japanese pronunciation. (pronounce somehow like "Gin-Kyo")... Gin of GINZA, Kyo of KYOTO ... :)
:moon: Those written Kanji letters are exactly same but the meanings are different, as the first pronunciation indicates tree-itself or trees-themselves, while the second one indicates particularly "the edible seed(s)" ... like fruit(s) and nut(s).... :), and the last one indicates particular drug or medicine .... :p
